I welcome the year 2015 which promises to be an even busier time for me and my crew. After a short rest during the holidays, it’s back to work again to cover my very first event for the year — the wedding of Barry and Tara.
I started the day at a apartment near the Domain in the city. This is our couple’s current residence. It is very close to the Naval base where Barry works. This is the place where I shot their gettng-ready and also where the ceremony was held. The apartment itself has a very nice lobby with classic furnishings and dramatic natural lighting. I certainly enjoyed shooting there.
The ceremony was a nice and simple affair attended only by their immediate family and friends. The rooftop of the building where the wedding took place had a very nice view of Sydney Harbour and the CBD. After the ceremony, we trekked to Hyde Park via the Domain Express Moving Walkway for our location shoot. The original plan was to walk to Darling harbour for the reception at The Meat Wine and Co. But with Tara on a wedding dress wearing heels, it’s kinda difficult. So it was decided that Tara, her bridesmaid, and me will just take a cab. Barry and his best man will return to their apartment to get their car and other items for the reception. It’s really funny seeing a bride on the street hailing a taxi. You can see that the taxi driver was amused as how often do you get an actual bride as a passenger!
I really enjoyed covering this wedding because everybody was just so nice. I specially loved the couple expressing their appreciation of my effort during their speech. Congratulations Barry and Tara and I wish you all the best!
