I first met Michelle and Sheldon 2 years ago when I covered the wedding of her brother. Who would have known that I would be shooting a wedding again from the same family.
Michelle and Sheldon are in a relationship for 4 years now. They first met at a black and white party! Their first date was at the beach in Wollongong. Sheldon was still wearing long jeans, and two jumpers even though it was 40+ degrees. He always says he is from Africa and feels the cold. People thought they were crazy.
A week later they returned to Wollongong with some friends and on the way Michelle was rear ended in a car accident. This day also lined up with the day she will meet the Sheldon’s Family for the first time. A very emotional and hot day. As soon as Sheldon’s mum saw Michelle, she ran out to the car dragging her out and hugging her to ensure she was ok.
They got engaged at a Gold Rush theme park in the South Coast (Old Mogo Town). They were panning for gold and found nothing. Michelle was disappointed so she walked away to take a call. Sheldon being the more persistent type continued on with the panning. A few minutes later, Sheldon yelled at Michelle to come back for he has found gold!. When Michelle saw him, he was on his knee with the stunning ring asking her to marry him. For sure, what they found there was better than gold!
They love going down the south coast for a day for picnics and some quiet time on a weekend when time prevails. Sheldon loves the NBA (which Michelle has taken a liking too) while Michelle loves baking. They spend most of their individual time working. They make the most of their time whenever they’re together.
Sheldon got Michelle’s initials in a love heart tattooed on his neck just after their two year anniversary. Sheldon also decided to become a Catholic so that their family will have only the one faith.
For this pre-wedding shoot, they chose Bradley’s Head at Mosman. This is the first time that I’ve been to the location. All I can say is it was beautiful! It’s just amazing that I had been living in Sydney for quite a while now and I still am discovering so many stunning places to shoot.
Michelle and Sheldon are such a fun couple that we all just had a great time. Stay tuned for our coverage of their wedding in February 2013.
