December 12, 2012 is a very symbolic day. It is the last day in this century where the date combination 12/12/12 will occur. Which is why a lot of people have scheduled their special event on that day. The news mentioned that a record amount of weddings (150+) had been registered in the eastern seaboard. For a Wednesday, that is really a lot! I’m glad though that I’m part of this historic date by covering the wedding of Shiela and Scott.
Shiela was originally from the Gold Coast and had just recently moved to Sydney to be with Scott. A fair number of guests had flown in from Queensland to attend the wedding.
We started the day at the Novotel Hotel at Darling Harbour where both Shiela and Scott are preparing
Shiela’s parents had flown in from the Philippines to attend
We then had to assemble in front of the Exhibition Centre at Darling Harbour which is the meeting point for all guests.
The couple organised a train ride for all guests to the wharf where the Captain Cook Cruises ship is moored.
A view of Darling Harbour while riding the train
The place above the ship where the ceremony will take place
A very emotional moment as the father of the bride was in tears while marching with his daughter.
A naughty entrance by the couple!
An emotional moment for Shiela while Scott was giving a speech.
Everybody was a having a great time dancing at the upper deck.
The cruise finished at about 10:00pm. The party continued on at a bar in Darling Harbour. We ourselves joined the party where we had a great time with the guests. A memorable 12/12/12 day indeed!
